Communion Poem by Suzanne Peterson
BREAD: for Healing
Jesus, as I take this bread I know You took my place instead.
Upon the cross was nailed the curse I've pictured it, but it was worse.
My sicknesses and every care You took upon Yourself to bear.
The lashes fell upon Your back so now there's NOTHING that I lack!
I'm healed and whole and I believe I break and eat and I receive.
WINE: for forgiveness of Sin
Jesus, I drink Your new wine, Your spotless blood which is divine.
Through Your blood, You paid the toll so I'd be made completely whole.
How horrible it was and yet, You chose to die and pay my debt!
You took my sin, You've set me free, You've washed me clean, forgiving me.
You drank my cup, then gave to me Your RIGHTEOUSNESS and VICTORY!
